PURPOSE:To provide an image holding member discarding device which is capable of making transfer paper completely unidentifiable of characters, images, etc., in a state of permitting its reutilization as regenerated raw material and is adequate for discarding of image holding members such as confidential documents. CONSTITUTION:Toners 3 on the transfer paper 2 are supplied with a peeling liquid and are peeled from the transfer paper 2 by a peeling roller 4. The transfer paper 2 from which the toners 3 are peeled is torn up in a width direction orthogonal with a transporting direction by tearing up wheels 9. At this time, the transfer paper 2 is still wet with the peeling liquid 1 and is, therefore, easily torn up as the joining force of the fibers to each other is weakened and the fibers are softened. The transfer paper 2 torn up in such a manner is torn up in the transporting direction by a tearing up roller pair 10 and is housed in a paper piece collecting box 11. The transfer paper 2 is still wet with the peeling liquid 1 even at this time as well and is, therefore, easily torn up in the same manner. |
