PURPOSE:To enhance the operability and safety and reduce the down time by lifting or lowering a device body according to its position automatically to a position where paper jamming or alarm is eliminated most easily when paper jamming or alarm are produced in an image forming device which is made considering that physically disabled persons may be used. CONSTITUTION:An image forming device is provided with a paper feed detection means to detect paper jamming, a lifting device 100 to lift and lower a device body 1, a CPU50 to control the lifting device 100, lifting switch 9 to move the lifting device 100 manually, a lowering switch 11, etc. The CPU50 judges, when paper jamming is detected, where paper is jammed and the sensor output, and drives the lifting device 100 according to its position to lift or lower the device body 1 to a position where the paper jamming is considered to be eliminated most easily by an operator. After that, the device warns and displays the operator of paper jamming. |
