摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a fiber reinforced plastic heat insulating material satisfying low heat conductivity and high compression strength being characteristics contrary to each other. CONSTITUTION:A fabric or nonwoven fabric is impregnated with a matrix resin 4 dissolved in a solvent to be dried to obtain a prepreg 1. This prepreg 1 and a fiber layer 2 composed of a fabric or nonwoven fabric containing no matrix resin are alternately laminated to form a laminate which is, in turn, subjected to press molding to partially transfer the matrix resin to the fiber layer and, by curing the matrix resin, the fiber layer 2 is formed as a layer consisting of fibers and void parts 5. Since the laminate is low in heat conductivity because of the presence of void parts and supports compression load by the cured matrix resin and fibers, the laminate has high compression strength without crushing void parts.
