PURPOSE:To obtain an electroviscous fluid suitable for a member useful for energy absorption and vibration damping, developing excellent electrofluid effect and dispersion stability. CONSTITUTION:This electroviscous fluid is obtained by dispersing and suspending 15-50wt.% of silica balloons composed of dried very small hollow single spherules having 0.9-1.1 specific gravity and 1-60mum average diameter into a liquid phase comprising 85-50 wt.% silicone oil (10-500 cP) having the same specific gravity range as that of the silica balloons to form a disperse phase. |
