PURPOSE:To obtain an ascorbic acid oxidase useful in the food industry and the reagents for clinical examinations by culturing a strain which belongs to Penicillium to produce ascorbic acid oxidase which is then collected. CONSTITUTION:A strain which belongs to Penicillium, e.g. Penicillium-canescens IFO7955 is cultured to produce ascorbic acid oxidase, which is then collected from the culture filtrate or solid medium extract freed of the strain from the cultured product. Any strain may be used provided it belongs to Penicillium, and any culture medium is usable if the strain is viable therein. |
