PURPOSE:To measure the concentration of ions accurately, by forming an ion sensitive film with a polymer having an anion exchange group or a cation exchange group and an organic compound having an ion exchange group having opposite electric charge with respect to the polymer. CONSTITUTION:An ion selective electrode is constituted by providing an inner electrode liquid 23 and an inner reference electrode 24 in a tubular container 21 formed with an ion sensitive film 22. The main constituting components of the ion sensitive film 22 are as follows: a polymer having an anion exchange group or a cation exchange group; and an organic compound which has two or three long-chain hydrophobic group or one straight-chain hydrophobic group including a rigid part in a continuous chain and has an ion exchange group having the opposite electric charge with respect to said polymer. Furthermore, the ion sensitive film 22 consists of a filmy material, in which the anion exchange group is present at such a ratio that the anion exchange group has an excessive quantity than the quantity of the cation exchange group. Thus the concentration of the ions is measured accurately. |
