In fluid contact columns a support for limiting the travel of a closure member for an aperture in a tray comprises a bracket 4, Fig. 1, secured to the upper surface of the tray, so as to extend upwardly therefrom, having an outwardly projecting lip portion 4d adapted to project over the aperture in the path of upward travel of the closure member 1, and also having a shoulder portion 4b below the lip portion to engage under the closure member and support the latter in a partly opened position. The bracket may have an outwardly projecting lip portion and a shoulder portion at each end, Fig. 4, so that the support may be secured between two adjacent apertures 12, 13, to limit the travel of closure members 15, 16. The bracket may comprise a base adapted to be secured to the upper surface of the tray and having at each side an upstanding flange to provide limiting stops at two spaced positions around the or each aperture. Centering catches may be included in the bracket to engage in the aperture in the tray. The brackets may be made from one-piece sheet metal blank, and may be fixed to the tray by rivetting, welding, or by the centering catches. |
