PURPOSE:To particularly improve emission while improving fuel consumption by using a gasoline engine with supercharger and an automatic transmission, attaining low fuel consumption in a low speed high load side of the engine, and further more using this operating region. CONSTITUTION:A supercharger 15 is provided in an engine, on the other hand, to use an automatic transmission as a speed changer 25, and by setting a characteristic of this automatic transmission so as to perform steady running in a low speed region in a supercharge region, a low fuel consumption region provided in the low speed region in the supercharge region is more used. By providing three-way catalytic converter in an exhaust passage of the engine and also by setting air-fuel ratio in at least the low speed region in the supercharge region to theoretical air-fuel ratio, emission in this region is improved. |
