PURPOSE:To provide an elastic roll for a fixing device of a long service life being provided with high durability as well as high wear resistance and a mold releasing property by forming at least the outermost layer of an elastic body layer of a silicone rubber layer filled with fluororesin powder treated with a sodium-naphthalene complex. CONSTITUTION:Fluororesin is originally nonadhesive and difficult to be compounded with other material. Also in the mixing with silicone rubber, fluororesin powder is weak in binding force to the silicone rubber, and in the case of this mixture being vulcanization-hardened, the fluororesin powder easily falls off the silicone rubber. Fluororesin powder treated with a sodium- naphthalene complex, however, has desirable binding force and adhesive strength to a silicone rubber matrix. As a result, the strength of an elastic body layer is enhanced, and the durability of an elastic roll can be remarkably improved. |
