AUTOMATIC FREEZE DEFLASHING METHOD AND APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To prevent the mixing with foreign matter and embody the automation of deflashing by successively sending a metal basket having rubber molded products received therein to a freeze deflashing machine, a washing machine and a dryer in a closed state by a feed means. CONSTITUTION:Rubber molded products such as O-rings are received in a metal basket 1 consisting of a basket main body and a lid member. The metal basket 1 is introduced into a precooling chamber 6 by a feed means 5 such as a conveyor to be precooled to be subsequently transferred to a main body chamber 7. The rubber molded products are frozen in the main body chamber 7 and the frozen products are deflashed by shot blasting. The deflashed molded products are returned to the conveyor 5 to be introduced into a washing machine 3 and the products in the basket 1 are washed by high pressure spray and finished by finishing spray of a detergent and pure water to be drained by clean air. The basket 1 is rotated during washing and introduced into a dryer 4 to be dried by hot air. The lid of the basket 1 is opened by a product take-out device 15 and the rubber molded products in the basket 1 are discharged by air spray. Therefore, the mixing with foreign matter is prevented and freeze deflashing is made fully automatic and unmanned.
