PURPOSE:To obtain an image of high resolving power while controlling the dot diameter of ink. CONSTITUTION:A pressure means is driven by main pulse voltage and pressure is applied to a liquid storage chamber provided with a nozzle 1 and a liquid droplet 2 is discharged from the nozzle 1. In the liquid storage chamber thus constituted, a voltage applying means applying applied pulse voltage for determining the leading end position of the liquid in the nozzle 1 to the pressure means in narrow pulse width by pulse voltage having the same polarity as the main pulse voltage and lower than the main pulse voltage is provided.
