PURPOSE:To facilitate the diagnosis by a microcomputer by eliminating a driving control circuit to simplify the circuit. CONSTITUTION:A diagnostic means of an occupant crash protection for a vehicle reads the respective voltages at an input terminal and an output terminal of a diode 16 for preventing the reverse current when an ignition switch 30 is turned on, and when a judgement is made that the respective voltages are not equal to each other, the contents of the failure are stored in a storing means 14. The diagnostic means has the function where the switching instruction signal is supplied to a power source switching circuit 13 when the drop of the voltage of the power source is detected when the ignition switch 30 is turned off, and the voltage value on the output side of the diode 16 for preventing the reverse current is read, the voltage value is compared with the normal value, and a judgement is made whether the power source switching means is normal or not.
