PURPOSE:To provide the speed change controller of an automatic transmission capable of controlling appropriate speed change exactly influenced by driver's will of speed reduction. CONSTITUTION:The speed change controller of an automatic transmission is provided with an engine load reduction speed detection means 11, a pedal stepping changeover time detection means 12, a judgement means 13 for judging driver's speed reduction requirement based on reduction speed of an engine load, and a pedal stepping chageover time detected by these detection means 11, 12, and a speed change control changing means 14 for changing speed change control of the automatic transmission in response to the driver's speed reduction requirement judged by the judgement means 13. |
