PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound of a specific formula, being expected to have anti-inflammatory action, anti-cancer metastasis action, anti-muscular dystrophy action, etc., and useful as a reagent effective for promoting basic research related to the effectiveness in vitro and in vivo. CONSTITUTION:A compound of the formula (R is H or OH). This compound has the following properties. Color and properties: colorless powder. Molecular formula: C17H23N3O5. Molecular weight: SI-MS (m/z) 350 [M+H]<+>. Melting point: 186-190 deg.C. Specific rotatory power: [alpha]<25>D=47.0 (C 1.0, H2O). Solubility: readily soluble in water and slightly soluble in methanol, acetone, ethyl acetate and chloroform. Color reaction: positive to molybdic acid, GL reagent and ninhydrin and negative to 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine and Sakaguchi reagent. Silica gel thin layer chromatography: Rf value=0.41 (2-propanol:1-butanol:water=7:7:6). The objective compound is preferably obtained by subjecting Aspergillus terricola (FERM P-13, 839) to submerged culture approximately at 260 deg.C and collecting the compound from the culture mixture. |
