PURPOSE:To make it easier for a user to find the start of image processing, the end of printing or the occurrence of a trouble to his control instructions in real time when one image former is shared by multiple users. CONSTITUTION:One printer 204, as a shared image former, is connected to multiple external units 201 to 203 through a network 205. When one of these external units sends print instructions and data to a printer, the printer identifies the identification number of the external unit and generates a different tone in response to the identification number whose print start notification tone, print end notification tone and warning tone are identified. The printer has a ROM 301, a signal oscillator 308 and a speaker 307 for that purpose. |
