Method of and apparatus for measuring sewage water discharge of gravitational sewerage channels

Sewage water is let to flow from inlet section (10) of a sewerage channel into a free water surface inflow shaft (11) arranged at least partly under the level of the gravitational sewerage channel prior to let it enter a measuring section (1) fitted with a flowmeter (2). Mud content of the sewage water is let to settle within the said inflow shaft (11). The part of lower mud concentration is let to enter with full-filled flow the measuring section (1) formed as a linear gravitational pipe and to flow therefrom into a free water surface outflow shaft (13). The part of higher mud concentration is forwarded intermittently from the inflow shaft (11) by means of a mud pump (5) arranged in a sump thereof, also with full-filled flow - preferably through the gravitational measuring section (1) itself - into the said outflow shaft (13).
