PURPOSE:To provide an air-conditioner capable of accurately predicting the activity of human bodies in a room over a period of the future, automatically operating in a suitable condition and always keeping the room in a comfortable state when occupants stay in the room, without requiring their manipulation owing to the accurate prediction and without causing a high increase in an electric rate. CONSTITUTION:A calendar/watch unit 32 is provided, which outputs data on a date and time. Human bodies in a room are detected by a human body sensor 33. Light of lighting fixtures in the room is detected by an optical sensor 34, and the weather is detected by a weather sensor 42. The outputs from the optical sensor 34 and from the weather sensor 42 are picked up at a necessary tiem based on the output from the human body sensor 33 or the output from the calendar/watch unit 32. Users' activity ranging over the future is predicted on the basis of the picked-up data, the output from the calendar/watch unit 32 and the output from the human body sensor 33, and the operation of an air-conditioner is controlled according to this predicted result.
