The present invention is directed to a 5-aminodihydropyrrole of the formula (1): <IMG> (1) in which R1 and R2 independently represent a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group or a lower haloalkyl group, or together form a C2-C10 alkylene group optionally substituted with a halogen by reducing an oxidepyrrole of the formula (2): <IMG> (2) in which R1 and R2 are the same as defined above, with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst. The compound of the present invention is useful as a raw material in agrochemicals.
