<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the information recording and reproducing device capable of performing tracking travel control with high accuracy irrespective of the presence of a control signal on an information medium by omitting a capstan and controlling the rotation of driving motors for a supply reel and a take-up reel respectively. CONSTITUTION:A fixed recording and reproducing head 12 and a fixed reproducing head 13 are provided, and at the time of recording, a control signal is recorded by the fixed recording and reproducing head 12, and the control signal is reproduced by the fixed reproducing head 13 to measure a time difference of the control signal between both heads, and this is divided by a distance D between both heads to detect a velocity V of the information medium 1. Then, at the time of reproducing, the control signal is reproduced by the fixed recording and reproducing head 12 as well, and a velocity V of the information medium 1 is detected in the same manner. The driving motors 16 and 17 for the supply reel 2 and the take-up reel 15 are controlled by the velocity V.</p> |
