PURPOSE:To provide an image forming device which achieves improvement in the durability of a blade, prevents the blade from curling up and reduce the developer consumption. CONSTITUTION:The image forming device equipped with a cleaning means 10 having the blade 10a used for removing developer sticking on the surface of a photoreceptor 5 is further equipped with, a residual-developer amount detecting means 21 which, based on the image white/black ratio of an original, detects amount of developer remaining on the surface of the photoreceptor 5 after transfer, and development-bias control means 21 and 22 which, in the case where the amount of developer detected by the means 21 is below a prescribed amount or the amount below the prescribed amount continues until the number of image sheets reaches a prescribed number, control the development bias when an area outside the image area of the original on the photoreceptor 11 reaches a developing position, and cause the developer to stick on the area outside the image area of the original on the photoreceptor 5. |
