The method involves successive reels being conveyed to a series of treatment posts. The treatment posts comprise a laminating post which has internal (20) and external (15) rollers. One of these rollers (15) is coupled to the drive shaft (12). The lower roller rotates freely on a movable support (18) controlled by a clamping and displacement mechanism (22). The distorted part of the tube wall is placed between two opposite rollers (15,20) which are then pressed together to clamp the wall. One of the rollers is then rotated to laminate the tube wall on its circumference. The internal roller moves between a working position, where a wall of the tube is clamped between the rollers, and a retracted position where the rollers are separated from each other.
