PURPOSE: To perform the backup copying of the contents of a large computer memory without continuously using long time. CONSTITUTION: This method is composed of a step for scheduling the prescribed number of copying sessions so as to separate the respective copying sessions from each other for prescribed time, the step for dividing first memories 11-1-11-J into a plurality of segments based on a prescribed division value and a read and storage step for reading the contents of the segment during the copying session and storing the read contents in a second memory 30. In an execution example, the first memories 11-1-11-J are composed of the prescribed number of memory blocks and the read and storage step is provided with the step for reading the copy of the block which is not the block for forming the segment copied during the present copying session whose contents are changed after the previous copying session during the present copying session. |
