PURPOSE:To obtain a connector with release and lock mechanism, of which outer dimension is reduced. CONSTITUTION:A lock member 5, which can be freely reciprocated between a lock position and a non-lock position, is provided in an ejector 4 for releasing a counterpart side connector 80, which is fitted to a frame 2. When this lock member 5 is positioned in its lock position, the lock member 5 is engaged with the frame 2 to lock the ejector 4. Switches 31, 32 to be interlocked with the lock member 5 can be desirably provided. A connector insertion port 8, in which the counterpart side connector is to be inserted, can be desirably provided so that a part the lock member may be opened and closed.
