The climbing wall has a vertical surface (1) mounted on a horizontal base (2). The wall rocks between two positions, remaining stable in its vertical position while the climber stays within a predetermined space round the surface, and rocking when the climber leaves this space. The lower surface of the sole has a flat central part (6) and one side fixed to the ground by a pivot (23). Its other side has an extension (24) with a curved rod (25), which cooperates with a braking device (26) and a stop (27) which are joined to the ground.
