The system consists of U shaped rails (7) which are fixed on either side of the door or window frame and waterproof panels made of marine plywood (A, B, C, D) which slide down between the to rails. Under each panel there is a U-shaped aluminium stiffener (2). There is a flexible seal (3) made of rubber, flexible plastics or foam on the upper edge of each panel and a thicker seal at the base of the bottom panel. Each panel has four bevelled wedges or wing nuts (8) to fix the panels in place and compress the seals. There are three metal anchorage sections (14) attached to the ground. Three L-shaped dowel screws (15) pass through the metal brackets (13) on the panel. Three bolts (16) are tightened to compress the seal (5) at the base. The rails can be fixed over a silicone seal. The anchorage section (14) can be fixed in its position and the L-shaped dowel screw is then inserted into it when necessary. The panels may be joined by clasps (11) and include a security lock.
