PURPOSE:To reduce the number of dictionaries to be referred to and to execute quick conversion processing by referring to a specified dictionary out of plural ones to execute conversion. CONSTITUTION:A document processing system is included in a client and a server 12 stores a user dictionary 111 in a system dictionary 121 and a field dictionary 122. Conversion is executed by the use of the dictionary specified by normal conversion or phomophone conversion 10 accordance with specification based upon using dictionary specifying data 113. In the case of referring to a dictionary other than the user dictionary, the case is requested by continuously sending the reading of a word or the like from the client 11 to the server 12 and a response to the reading is received. In the case of homophone conversion, the system dictionary 121 and the field dictionary 122 are used in addition to the user dictionary 111. Thereby conversion processing can quickly be executed while using various kinds of dictionaries and many words and memory size necessary for conversion processing can also be attained by minimum capacity without being influenced by the kind of a dictionary or increment in the number of words. |
