PURPOSE:To prevent a state that a liquid refrigerant is pushed out into a current lead connected to a superconducting coil when the pressure of a gas refrigerant in a gas-phase part in the central hole of a low-temperature rotor is raised. CONSTITUTION:The rotor of a superconducting rotating electric machine is provided with a low-temperature rotor 1 which is attached to an end-part shaft 8 and which has a central hole 3 storing a liquid refrigerant 2, with a superconducting coil 4 which is wound on the low-temperature rotor 1 and which is cooled by the liquid refrigerant 2, with a tubular current lead 10 which is connected electrically to the superconducting coil 4 through the central hole 3 inside the low-temperature rotor 1 from the end-part shaft 8 and which is cooled by the circulation of a gas refrigerant obtained when the liquid refrigerant 2 is gasified inside and with a discharge pipe which is installed so as to communicate with a gas-phase part in the central hole 3 in the low-temperature rotor 1 from the end-part shaft 8 and which discharges the gas refrigerant to the outside from the gas-phase part. Consequently, a communication part 10a which communicates with the gas-phase part 15 in the central hole is formed in the current lead 10, and a relief valve 17 which is opened when the pressure of the gas refrigerant in the gas-phase part 15 in the central hole becomes by a certain value higher than the pressure of the gas refrigerant inside the current lead 10 is installed at the communication part 10a. |
