PURPOSE:To charge secondary batteries in the optimum method by measuring and comparing the battery temperatures of multiple secondary batteries fitted to a battery charger, and charging them in sequence from the secondary battery suitable for charging. CONSTITUTION:Charge controllers 2A, 2B store switching elements (not shown in the Figure) controlling the charging current of a secondary battery based on the comparison of the measured battery temperature and stopping an electric charge when the connected secondary battery is fully charged. A control section 3 controls the charge controllers 2A, 2B and charges either secondary battery A or B or stops the charging. The control section 3 judges whether secondary batteries are connected to the charge controllers 2A, 2B or not, detects the voltage of the secondary battery to be charged, and judges whether it is fully charged. When the secondary battery being charged is fully charged, the control section 3 outputs the control signal to the controllers 2A, 2B. The controllers 2A, 2B turn switches off in response to the control signal. |
