The invention provides an animal feed, in particular for pigs, which in addition to the customary constituents contains at least 0.5 wt%, in particular roughly 1.5 wt%, of finely ground shells. The finely ground shells have a particle size of preferably less than 250 μm. The animal feed has a beneficial effect on the health and the growth of farm animals kept indoors, in particular pigs. The invention further provides a method for improving and/or increasing the meat production of fat stock (animals for slaughter). |
