A device for removing manure from a stable is provided with a manure channel and a manure slide which can move to and fro in the manure channel in order to push the manure present on the manure channel to a manure store. Liquid sprayers which are connected to the manure slide are used to clean the manure channel, a flexible hose being connected at one end to the liquid sprayers of the movable manure slide and at the other end to a liquid source. A mechanism for the taut guidance of the hose as the manure slide moves to and fro is provided with a deflecting roller which can be displaced with respect to the manure slide and around which the hose is guided, so as to form a variable loop, and with a component, which is connected to the deflecting roller, for keeping the hose loop at least approximately taut. In this way, the hose is kept taut in a simple and reliable manner.
