Installation which consists of individual devices, one for supplying and another for discharging; cooling equipment and a mechanism for loading/unloading panels, which act in synchronisation. Each supply/discharge device includes a turning-over device which arranges the panels, respectively, in a vertical plane and in a horizontal plane prior to their entry into and after their exit from the cooling equipment. The cooling equipment includes a cabin with means for its guided cyclical displacement in a horizontal plane, said cabin containing a plurality of cells for individually housing the panels, each one of which cells cyclically faces, during its guided displacement, the devices for supplying and discharging panels. The mechanism loads/unloads a panel and loads another in any of the cells which cyclically reach this loading/ unloading position. Applicable to handling machinery. <IMAGE>
