PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of the gas seal of a manifold section and invariably provide a stable power generating function. CONSTITUTION:An insulating manifold ring 6' is tapered so that the outer periphery side is set thinner than the inner periphery side, and the tapered faces are airtightly sealed to metal ring-like members 10, 10' airtightly arranged on the peripheral edge face of the through hole 9 of a separator 5 by brazing 8a or by bonding with a high-temperature adhesive. A separator group 5 for forming a fuel gas passage 7a on one principal plane side and an oxidant gas passage 7b on the other principal plane is provided between unit fuel cells 3, 3' each sandwiching an electrolyte plate 1 with a pair of electrode layers 2a, 2b from both principal planes side. |
