摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption by controlling the ON/OFF of a power source at a subscriber unit from the side of a center station. CONSTITUTION:When a power source control signal (u) inputted from a power source control circuit 55 is set at a high level, a transmitting signal processing circuit 58 outputs an up subscriber signal (y) and transmits it to an optical transmission circuit 59 by turning on power supply to an active element inside the present circuit and performing signal processing required for transmitting up subscriber signals (x) inputted through input terminals D-1-D-n from subscriber terminals such as a multiplexer, data terminal, image terminal and ISDN telephone terminal to a prescribed center side suitable for performing multiplex transmission such as conversion from time continuous signals to time intermittent burst signals. When the signal (u) is inputted at a low level from the circuit 55, the supply of the signal (y) to the circuit 59 is stopped by stopping the signal processing function of the signals (x) by turning off the power supply to the active element inside the present circuit. Thus, since the ON/OFF of the power source at the subscriber unit can be remotely controlled from the center station side, the power consumption of the system can be reduced.
