Fluid cooling system for IC engine

A fluid cooling system for an IC engine has an external cooling circuit incorporating a condensation chamber at the highest point relative to the engine. This chamber is connected on one side with the cooling chambers in the cylinder head. On the other side a cooling fluid supply branches off to a heat exchanger, and a pump is mounted in the cooling fluid return line, with a bypass on the pressure side leading to the cooling chambers in the cylinder block. The bypass (14) is operated by a regulated three-way valve (13), and has a flow cross-section smaller than that of the return line.
