Crosslinkable copolyethers and their use as polymeric electrolytes.

Copolymer of ethylene oxide and/or of propylene oxide and of at least one substituted oxirane carrying a crosslinkable functional group. The copolymer, consisting essentially of -CH2-CH2-O- units and/or of -CH2-CH(CH3)-O- units and of -CH2-CHR<1>-O- units, is characterised in that R<1> denotes a radical CHR<3>=CR<2>-X-O-(CH2)n- in which R<2> is CH3 or H, R<3> is H, F, PHI or PHI -CH=CH and X denotes an electron-withdrawing group, with 0 to vary from one unit to another. The copolymer is prepared by a copolymerisation process in the presence of a Vandenberg catalyst. The copolymer is useful for the production of a solid electrolyte which has good mechanical properties, good cation conductivity and good chemical compatibility with the electrodes of a generator functioning with alkali metals such as lithium and sodium.
