Drill stand with roller guides for drilling machines

The drill stand has a drilling pillar (1) of square cross-section with radiused corners and with adjustable mounting bracket. Roller guides (3) are accommodated within a split motor bearing housing (2). The roller guides (3) are supported on two axles (4) on opposite sides of the pillar (1) and are radiused to minimise friction to the pillar at its four corners. For vertical drilling a sprung catch fixes the housing (2) at a chosen height by engaging a toothed rack. The system can be constructed in any pillar and guide roller size.
