Child seat for bicycle

The moulded seat shell (4) supports the child either in the bicycle carrier (3) of on a vehicle seat. The universal mounting allows the child to be transferred with a minimum of disturbance. The bicycle carrier is fitted with a clamping system comprising a shaped metal strap (5) with grip clamps (8, 12) at each end to clip over the lipped ends (9, 13) of the seat shell. The underside of the seat shell has stubs (21) which locate into a locking block (7) clamped onto the carrier. The locking block is secured via a bar through its length with the ends of the bar clamped to the carrier. The bar is locked into the block with threaded fasteners. The top rear clamp (12) for the bicycle fitting includes a rear reflector (22) and a hinged clamping lever (10) through which the seat shell is secured in one simple clamping action.
