The vehicle seat in the normal position has two cushions (3,3') arranged one above the other in front of the base cushion (1). The cushions are rearranged one behind the other or one on top of the other on the base cushion to form a seat for a child. The new seat is held secure against slippage by a metal clamp (4) and two belts (7,7'). In the normal position an intermediate cushion (2) is fitted between the base cushion and the rear edge of the two part cushions.
