Induction heating coil for hardening separate inner wall sections of e.g. cylinder block

In an induction heating coil arrangement with a cylindrical conductive induction part for forming a hardened layer in the inner wall of an external cylindrical part, the novelty is that circumferentially spaced cut-outs are formed on the inner wall of the conductive induction part so that sections of the inner wall of the external cylindrical part, lying opposite the cut-out sections, can be separately heated to form separate hardened portions. Also claimed are processes for induction hardening of the inner surface of a cylinder or cylinder block.
