Bobbin movement grip

The appts. to handle bobbins and sleeves, with a vertical movement to a pallet for stacking and transport, has a grip (21) at the end of a moving linked chain. It has gripper head (67) which swings on a horizontal axis (31). The dimensions of the grip are set to allow entry into the openings (69) of bobbin sleeves (70) and openings (74) in intermediate pallet layers (26) covering bobbins. Pref. the gripper head (67) has at least two moving grip pads (60) to bear against the inner wall of the bobbin sleeve (70). The pointed end of the gripper (67) has a right angled recess (73) with a depth matching the thickness of an intermediate layer (26) and engages the edges of the openings (74) in the layer (26). A system (47,48), with a pneumatic cylinder, moves the gripper (21) between the vertical and the horizontal. The gripper (21) is mounted to a carrier (49) at the movement system (20) which gives the vertical action through a sliding movement. A sensor (78) controls the vertical movement and the working of the gripper pads (60). The gripper head (67) has a truncated cone shoulder (72) to centre the upper edge (71) of the bobbin sleeve (70) for the entry of the head (67). The appts. gives an effective operation to move bobbins and stack them at a pallet.
