<p>PURPOSE:To produce an oil tempered wire having excellent surface cleanability by subjecting a steel wire to an oil temper treatment, then subjecting this treated wire to electrolytic polishing, etc., thereby cleaning the surface. CONSTITUTION:The steel wire is subjected to the oil temper treatment and thereafter, this treated wire is subjected to any >=1 treatments among electrolytic polishing, chemical polishing and shot peening treatments, by which the surface of the steel wire is cleaned. As a result, the oil tempered wire, of which the amt. of the residual matter exclusive of the lubricating oil and rust preventive oil on the surface of the steep wire is <=0.5g/m<2> and has the excellent surface cleanability is obtd.</p> |
