MULTICOLOR INK JET RECORDING HEAD

PURPOSE:To perform multicolor printing by one ink jet head by housing a plurality of passages communicating with a plurality of emitting orifices emitting inks and liquid chambers supplying inks to the passages in adjacent relationship by colors. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of divided liquid chambers are formed to a grooved top plate 1300 so as to be partitioned by walls 10a-10c. Ink supply ports 20a-20d are provided to the respective liquid chambers and passages 45 communicating with emitting orifices are formed to the entire region of the grooved top plate 1300 at an equal pitch. The liquid chambers and the intervals 46 between them are formed in the integral multiple of the passage pitch. By forming a plurality of the divided liquid chambers, different inks can be supplied to the respective liquid chambers and multicolor printing can be performed by one ink jet head unit and the ink jet head unit can be made compact.
