PURPOSE:To perform ignition at desired timing in an abrupt acceleration condition of an engine by comparing an inner-cylinder pressure set correspondingly to the desired ignition timing to a detected value of the inner-cylinder pressure for ignition in the case that the desired ignition timing can not be directly detected as an angle. CONSTITUTION:When an engine 1 whose desired ignition timing can not be directly detected as an angle is judged to be in an abrupt acceleration condition, ignition control is not carried out temporally, but carried out based on inner- cylinder pressure detected by an inner-cylinder pressure sensor 17. A reference inner-cylinder pressure is set corresponding to the present operation condition, with reference to a map in which the inner-cylinder pressure 8 reference inner- cylinder pressure) corresponding to a desired ignition timing is previously stored in every operation area which is divided into plural parts by an engine load relevant value and an engine speed. The inner-cylinder pressure detected by the inner-cylinder pressure sensor 17 is compared to the set reference inner- cylinder pressure. When they agree with each other, the cocerning cylinder is ignited by the ignition plug 7. |
