The prosthesis of the invention comprises a femoral implant (1) which in turn includes an anteroposterior part (3), a trochlea (4), an external and an internal condyle (5, 6), and a tibial plateau (2) for supporting the implant (1); a seat (13) is provided in the anteroposterior part (3) for receiving a plate (12), with a central condyle (11), that may be removably attached to said part (3) through bone anchoring studs (14), as decided by the surgeon in accordance with the state of the posterior cruciate ligament; wherein said central condyle (11) is able to cooperate with a central notch (9) of the tibial plateau (2) so as to constitute a postero-stabilising abutment assembly for preventing incomplete dislocation during flexing of the knee if the posterior cruciate ligament is missing. This modular prosthetic assembly eliminates one of the two complete sets of prostheses heretofore needed. |
