PURPOSE:To obtain a roofing material with functions of resisting fire, of insulat ing heat, of proofing it against dew, and of absorbing sound, by a method where in at least one face of mat-shaped or felt-shaped rock wool-made insulator is coated with a surface-coating sheet for reinforcement, and the insulator coated is stuck on a bent metallic plate, laying the indoor side thereof face up. CONSTITUTION:An insulator-made mat 2 is formed by coating one face of mat-shaped, rock wool-made insulator 3 with a surface-coating sheet 4 for reinforcement. The surface-coating sheet 4 is made of aluminum foil 5 reinforced with glasscloth. The insulator-made mat 2 is placed on a bent metallic plate 1, laying the surface-coating sheet 4 face up, and is stuck by pressing. The width of the surface-coating sheet 4 is made wider than that of the insulator 3 and the side face of the insulator 3 is coated with the surface-coating sheet 4. Furthermore, surplus parts left over by coating each are stuck to hook parts 1a of the bent metallic plate 1. In this way, functions of resisting fire, of insulating heat, of proofing roofing-material against dew, and of absorbing sound can be inexpensively and excellently displayed in a long period of time.
