PURPOSE: To provide a passenger side air bag module assembly having an integrated cover for protecting a contracted air bag before installation by including the cover formed as a piece with a housing, and extended along the whole length of the housing for closing an upper part of the housing. CONSTITUTION: A canister as an extruded body has a tube form having a flat surface formed of a cover 18. An air bag to be expanded in the canister 10 breaks the cover 18 along a breaking line 30 to form a door opened along a hinge line 32 close to a left side fall 14. Assemblage of the air bag module is started by cutting the extruded canister 10 in a specified length. Next, the air bag is folded, and two connection members 40, 44 sewn on the other side of a rectangular mouth part are installed on semicylindrical channels 34, 36. Material of the air bag is expanded through a slot extended along an upper part of the channel.
