<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the carry over of fragments and deteriorated matter, etc., of gaskets into a pipe material by pressing a gas feed port member connected to an advancing and retreating means via a universal bearing member and a gas accepting port member located at a tray to each other in metal-to-metal touch. CONSTITUTION:A long-sized pipe material coil is placed on the tray in a furnace and is heat treated. At this time, a purging gas is passed into the pipe material to evaporate and remove the fats and oils sticking to the inside surface thereof. The tray of the device for supplying the purging gas to the pipe material, as described above, is provided with the gas accepting port member 31 having the gas accepting port 8. On the other hand, the furnace side is equipped with the gas feed port member 51 having the gas feed port 71 movably forward and backward to verge on the gas accepting port member 31 by means of a cylinder rod 41. These two members are pressed to each other in the metal-to-metal touch. The gas feed port member 51 and the cylinder rod 41 are connected via supporting rods 64, 65 and the universal bearing member consisting of a spherical body 61 and spherical bearing 62 supported by a shaft 53. Further, the gas feed port member 51 is preferably projectingly provided with an annular piece 72 rounded at its front end enclosing the gas feed port 71.</p> |
