PURPOSE:To obtain high motive power performance by securing an exhaust passage having a sufficient cross-sectional area. CONSTITUTION:In a marine propulsion device to drive propellers in rotation in the mutually inverse direction, a first slider 15 to rotate an inner shaft 5 reciprocally by engaging selectively with engaging parts formed on the respective insides of a pair of vertical bevel gears 13 and 14, is arranged inside of the vertical bevel gears 13 and 14, and a second slider 16 to rotate an outer shaft 6 in one direction by engaging with an engating part formed outside of the rear side vertical bevel gear 14 so as to be locked and released, is arranged in the rear of the rear side vertical bevel gear 14. At the same time, a bearing sleeve 14a extending integrally rearward is arranged, and supports the outer peripheral part rotatably, and at least a part of the slider 16 is faced inside. Thereby, since the bearing sleeve 14a of the vertical bevel gear 14 and the second slider 16 overlap with each other, an axial length can be shortened. |
