A dense sintered prod. contains at least 90 vol.% cubic boron nitride particles and 2-10 vol.% diamond particles of 0.5-2 microns size. The prod. is produced by (a) preparing a mixt. of at least 90 vol.% cubic boron nitride particles and 2-10 vol.% diamond particles of 0.5-2 microns size; and (b) hot pressing the mixt. to below 100 kbars pressure and below 1800 deg C to effect sintering without use of a catalyst and a metallic binder. |
