The method stores in memory a received fax message when the user is absent and confirms it from remote location. It comprises the steps of: (i) sending a call response(CED) and a confirmation signal(DIS) to print a received image data if remote function is not set; (ii) storing image data in momory if remote function is set but a promised signal is not inputted; and (iii) finishing a T.30 transmission procedure if remote function is set and the promised signal is inputted.
